Are Ukulele Chords and Guitar Chords the same?

I play guitar and I was wondering if ukulele chords are the same... I know there not the same shape like a C chord on the guitar is x-3-2-0-1-0 and on a uke its 0-0-0-3. I guess my main question is will I have to learn new chord progressions for songs I already know on guitar? or do those chords just transfer to the ukulele?
