Parents refuse to acknowledge upcoming wedding?

My fiance and I set a wedding date a few months ago for November of this year. At first, my parents were thrilled and started calling all our relatives and friends and my dad even booked the church and called around about reception halls. Now, they won't even acknowledge him as my fiance, they just call him my boyfriend. I reminded them that we had already set a date, and how excited they were about it, and that he is still my fiance. I doubt we'll be able to get married in Nov. b/c money is really tight, and my parents are really pressuring me to tell him to push the wedding back to next year. They said they won't accept the engagement b/c 1) I don't have a ring yet (although it is being made from an heirloom ring where his dad lives), he doesn't have his GED (which he is in the process of working toward, but he works 7 days/wk so it's hard to focus) 3) he needs to make more money. He wants to be a cop and he owns his own business. They are driving me nuts!!!
