Is Rahm Emanuel's so-called Israeliness a negative thing to many Americans? ?

We don't claim American-born Rahm Emanuel here in Israel, although in an important sense all Jews have Israeli nationality, because we are not a religion but a faith, a people and a nation. Yet I detect that his loyalty to America is in question. He is hardly known to us in Israel, since he choses NOT to live here, so most of us can't say why he is polarizing force.
